Here we’d like to present another product of cooperation between our workshop and Minsk Motorcycle and Bicycle Plant (JSC Motovelo).
There was a will of Alexander Muravyov, the Chairman of ATEC Holding GmbH which now is the owner of JSC Motovelo, to get a prototype of the 500-cubic motorcycle. The prototype was meant to expand a new model range of the plant by natural development of the model M4 200 “Neo Classic”.
The customer chose a Chinese ex-Cagiva 498 ccm engine as the power unit of the motorcycle. Besides, a list of components to be used for production was set (front and rear brakes, fork, etc.).
The customer requirements in terms of the model design were to preserve classical appearance along with accumulating of the best design solutions from several most popular motorcycles: Honda GB500 Clubman, Triumph Thruxton and Norton Commando. The order was ready in four months after the businessman and the customizer shook hands on it.
As a result there came out a representative of its segment bearing all the best traditional valued features.
It’s no use to look for revolutionary solutions in the construction of М500, because the main task was to adapt it as much as possible to the existing production facilities at the plant of JSC Motovelo.
Two of the created prototypes slightly vary by kitting – that was made with a purpose to examine possibilities of applying components and units from different manufacturers.
We do hope that modern engineering on the one hand and applying of simple and reliable components on the other hand will contribute to future broad popularity of the motorcycle.
